The Turrisi family history details the acquisition of various titles and feuds. Mauro Turrisi and Piraino received the title of Baron Gorgio and Bonvicino in 1803. Vincenzo Turrisi and Piraino acquired the fiefs of San Giorgio dell'Ogliastro in 1805 and Palminteri in 1812. Later, in 1902, Mauro Turrisi Grifeo obtained recognition of numerous princely, ducal, and marquis titles through inheritance from the Gravina and Grifeo families.
